After my aunt's funeral service ended at 10:45 am yesterday, I called Brasserie Creole to see if they were open to service my family and I, a total of 20 people. Unfortunately, takeout was available only. However, the lady who answered the phone was very pleasant and told me it was ok and Brasserie Creole will accommodate my family and I. When we arrived, we walked through the takeout section and into the restaurant. The same lady who answered the phone was the one who greeted us with a bright smile and positive energy. She setup the table for 20 people and it was lovely. She took our order and she did not take long bringing our hot food. We were served a variety of delicious Haitian food which also included the Haitian Macaroni and the famous pickles. They had music in the background that was appropriate for the occasion as well. Another waiter came to assist. We felt special being the only people at the restaurant and we were treated very well. The staff had a welcoming personality and they were professional. I was grateful to everyone who made sure we had good food and drinks to comfort us as we were remembering my beloved aunt.

My friend went to visit his mom in Long Island and was told me this spot makes authentic Haitian food. I had the fritaille (griot and fried plantain). The griot was well seasoned juicy not dry. They give you an ample amount.

The food is AMAZING. Let's be real, yes the women have attitudes on most days but what Haitian auntie doesn't, hell we all do! I liken this place to Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi" episode; just order takeout with as little conversation as possible and life is balanced again. This place will always get a pass from me, simply because it tastes like home. I'm giving it five stars because reviews based on service can be deceiving and sometimes I just want to know if the food simply tastes good and this place is delicious. You can't go wrong here. I could care less of an eye roll at checkout 5 mins ago when I'm feasting on the deliciousness of good Haitian food at home. The most authentic Haitian food you can get in Queens The "Poisson Gros Sel' is my absolute favorite. Spicy and sooo good.
